What is Child Minding at the Canada Games Centre?
Child Minding is a drop-in babysitting service for parents wishing to enjoy activities within the Canada Games Centre.
What activities are available for the children?
We'll entertain your little one with crafts, games and play time in the child play area.
Can I bring a snack?
Yes, you may bring a snack for your child.
What should I bring?
- Please label all personal items before you bring them.
- Special toys are welcome, we cannot be responsible for lost, shared or damaged toys.
Where can I store my belongings?
- Patrons are responsible for their own personal items.
- Lockers are available in the change rooms for your convenience.
- There is a coat rack and bench available in the child play area.
Health and Safety
- In consideration of other children and staff, we ask that you refrain from bringing children who are ill.
- Our staff takes great care to ensure your child has a safe and enjoyable experience. Upon your arrival, you will be asked to sign your child in. Your child will only be permitted to leave with the adult who signed them in.
- Toys and equipment are disinfected regularly to ensure a clean and safe play environment.
Staff
Our childcare providers are certified in Standard First Aid and Level C CPR and have undergone a Criminal Records Check.
Child to staff ratio
Our ratios follow the guidelines established by the Yukon Government for drop-in daycare centres:
- 2-3 years = 1 supervisor : 6 children
- 3-5 years = 1 supervisor : 8 children
- 6-9 years = 1 supervisor : 12 children
- Availability is on a first-come basis.
